Cancer Support

Cancer support

Nutritional therapy plays an important role at any stage of a cancer journey, whether as a tool for prevention, after initial diagnosis, during treatment or post treatment.  It is a key part of an integrative approach to supporting the mind and body as a whole, working alongside traditional medical treatment.

A diagnosis is overwhelming and the treatment options can be daunting.  Many people, or loved ones of those with a cancer diagnosis, want to know what they can do to support their body and find the wealth of information and advice out there overwhelming and confusing.  My aim is to support individuals as part of their overall treatment plan, using evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle advice and recommendations that are suited to them as an individual and their specific cancer, wherever they are in their journey.

My interest in nutrition began when my father was given a terminal diagnosis. I researched how nutrition could support him through his treatment and found that the focus if gave my father and our family was invaluable, bringing positivity to what felt like an otherwise helpless situation.  It led me to study nutrition and more recently undertake specialist training in cancer.

Further to my nutrition training (about me) I have completed the Systems Approach to Cancer Training, an integrative cancer care course and certification for nutrition professionals, taught by Dr Nina-Fuller Shavel – a pioneering integrative medicine doctor and co-chair of the BSIO (British Society for Integrative Oncology).  This qualifies me to safely and effectively deliver nutritional therapy to clients with cancer or recovering from cancer treatment.

Please note that nutritional therapy is not a substitute for professional medical advice and does not claim to diagnose, treat or cure any disease including cancer.
